Current Research Projects

Fighting Blindness has funded biomedical research since it was founded over 25 years ago. The list below is from 2004 to the present day. Some of the older projects are now concluded, however more recent projects are in various stages of completion.

Since 2004 Fighting Blindness has invested over €3.5 million in research!

Abbreviations: RP - Retinitis Pigmentosa, AMD - Age Related Macular Degeneration, ALL - All types of retinal blinding conditions, LHON - Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy, LCA - Leber congenital amaurosis.
