Who should attend
All ophthalmic doctors, consultants and trainees, general practitioners with an interest in ophthalmology, ophthalmic nurses, optometrists, rehabilitation and social workers for the visually impaired, researchers in vision science.

 

Aims and Objectives
The understanding of the molecular basis of ophthalmic disorders has advanced significantly over the past 10 years with two gene therapy trials currently enrolling for early onset Retinitis Pigmentosa. This conference will provide an update on the novel and challenging topic of genetic interpretation of ophthalmic disorders, focusing on four areas of interest:

  • Inherited retinal dystrophies
  • Hereditary optic neuropathies
  • Age-related macular degeneration
  • Childhood dystrophies
