Join us this September for a new six-week series of Dance for All workshops, delivered in collaboration with dance artist Laura Sarah Dowdall.
Artist in Residence Project, funded by the Arts Council and Dublin City Council, and supported by Fighting Blindness, the Gate Theatre and Disrupt Festival.

This inclusive, all-ability creative dance programme is open to people with all levels of visual impairment. No previous dance experience is required—just a willingness to move, connect and explore creativity in a supportive, accessible environment.
Led by renowned dance artist Laura Sarah Dowdall, each session combines creative improvisation with voice, storytelling, text and movement. Participants will be introduced to contemporary dance techniques, improvisation, choreographic composition and touch-based communication practices that support accessibility for people living with vision loss.
Together, we’ll explore movement through guided creative practices and technique-building exercises that help us move with confidence and safety as individuals, in pairs and as a group.

These workshops are part of Laura Sarah Dowdall’s Arts Council Dance Artist in Residence Project, which runs throughout 2026. The residency explores inclusive dance practices and collaborative creative processes with people living with vision loss, alongside professional dancers and artistic collaborators.
The project will culminate in a public sharing at the Gate Theatre on Thursday, 10 December 2026. A further public event is also planned for late October 2026, with more details to be announced.
We look forward to welcoming participants to this exciting opportunity to move, create, connect and discover the possibilities of dance together.
