The Need to Talk Project offers free counselling and confidence building for people with sight loss across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland.
Need To Talk will be running a six week ‘Living with Sight Loss’ Course at the City Hotel in Derry / Londonderry throughout November and December 2017.
This face to face confidence building course will provide practical and emotional support to people living with sight loss from the North West of Northern Ireland and the border county of Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.
About the course
The course comprises of a combination of facilitated sessions and informative talks by both RNIB and Fighting Blindness project team. You will also hear from other organisations about what help and support is available and how to access it when you need it.
A range of themes are covered which include mobility and daily living, emotional support and wellbeing, assistive technology, eye health, peer support and leisure time.
As well as providing an opportunity for people affected by sight loss to meet and connect with each other, family and friends are also invited to attend and participate in this course.
The dates for this upcoming 6 week course are as follows;
November: Monday 6, Friday 17, Friday 24, Tuesday 28
December: Monday 4, Monday 11
On each date the course will begin at 10.30am and finish at 3pm.
