Three hundred people took part in this year’s event; 210 in the usual 15.5km run and 91 in the 10km run / walk, which was introduced for the first time this year.
We weren’t as lucky with the weather as in previous years but most people passed the finish line before the rain set in and made it to the Brockagh Community Centre where hot soup, tea and refreshments was waiting to warm them up after the long run.
We really want to thank everyone who supported the event, either by taking part, donating sponsorship or supporting participants on the day. So far we have raised €13,670 and this expected to rise to €17,000 as sponsorship is still arriving in. If you would still like to support the event or send in your sponsorship you can do so through our website here or contacting us on 01 6789 004 to make a payment over the phone.
Thank you to everyone who helped to organise and volunteered at the event. A very special thank you Outfront Events, Crannmore Pottery, Brockagh Community Centre, Turas and our fantastic Fighting Blindness volunteers. Thanks to John Shiels from Action Photography for the amazing pictures of the event that you will find on the Action Photography Facebook page and www.actionphotography.ie.
