Best Will in the World week takes place from Monday October 21 to Friday October 25, and more than 400 solicitors in Ireland are offering consultations for just €50 to anyone considering making or changing a will.
Best Will in the World week is an initiative of ‘My Legacy‘ – a group of Irish charities, including Fighting Blindness, who have come together to encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their will to their favourite charity.
Research conducted by My Legacy shows that only 34 per cent of Irish people have made legal arrangements for when they die.
Leo Mangan, Solicitor, Mangan O’Beirne Solicitors, who is participating in the initiative said “The time for making a will is now. It is easier and cheaper than most people believe. Without a will, problems, both legal and personal, can be expensive and endless. A will allows a person to decide who they wish to benefit. If possible, as well as benefiting family, it can be good to provide a bequest to charity. Everyone has a charity close to their experience of life and close to their heart. Best Will in the World Week encourages such help.”
