Join us this February for the first virtual Living with Sight Loss course of 2021. The popular confidence building course is open to people living with vision impairments in the border counties of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.
The free course will begin on Thursday, 18 February and runs every Thursday from 11am to 3pm for five weeks. The course will finish Thursday, 18 March.
Living with Sight Loss is designed to increase the confidence and independence of people who are living with any form of sight loss. The informal course will provide information and practical advice on a range of essential everyday topics such as getting out and about, information about welfare rights, and how technology can make life that bit easier.
To meet Covid-19 social distancing guidelines, we transformed our face-to-face course into a virtual webinar series. Previous participants found the online delivery convenient, interactive and dynamic.
A participant in a Living with Sight Loss course in 2020 said, “Attending the course made me fully aware of the whole range of services and sports activities that are available to visually impaired people. Everyone on the course had different levels of vision and it was good to hear how individuals are using technology or gadgets to assist them, good tips can be picked up from listening to others.”
The course is delivered through the accessible video conferencing platform Zoom. A telephone dial in option is also available.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance by contacting the team on 01 674 6496 or email@example.com.
This course is delivered through the ‘Need to Talk’ project, an emotional support and confidence building service supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
