New gardening group

April 28, 2021

Wooden planter full of plants

With the summer approaching, we know that gardening can be a great way of getting outdoors and keeping active. It can be of great therapeutic value in its own right. There is a wealth of collected gardening hints and tips specific to sight loss that can be shared and we hope that by bringing similarly-minded people together, you can support and assist each other in getting your garden, whether large or small, ready for summer 2021.

We’re proposing a pilot special interest group to run throughout the summer on a trial basis. Roots will meet on a Monday afternoon each month from May to August on Zoom.

  • Dates: Monday 10 May, Monday 14 June, Monday 12 July, Monday 9 August
  • Time: 2.00pm to 3.30pm
  • Venue: Zoom (training on Zoom can be provided by Fighting Blindness in advance of joining)

If you think this may be of interest to you or someone you know, please contact us on 01 674 6496  or email

Please note that places on this group will be limited to 14 participants.

We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the group and also we’d love to hear your suggestions and ideas.
