Peer Support Group for Partners/Spouses of those living with Sight Loss

February 8, 2022

Here at Fighting Blindness, we recognise that partners and spouses are often faced with particular challenges in supporting their loved ones who are living with sight loss.

You may have feelings of sadness, anger or anxiety relating to your situation and this can affect you and your family on a regular basis. During these times, many people find it useful to talk through their feelings with someone outside their usual circle of family and friends, and often by meeting with others who have faced similar difficulties, vital support can be found.

Insight Counselling runs a peer support group for spouses/partners of those affected by sight loss. The group is open to both men & women. Please note that this is not formal Group Therapy.

  • The Group will meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 3pm to 4.30pm.
  • Venue: Zoom and potentially Ely Place, Dublin 2 (TBC)

If you think this may be of interest to you or to your partner/spouse, please contact us on 01 674 6496  or email us at insight@fightingblindness.ie

We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the group and it will also give us the chance to get a sense of what kind of support you feel would be helpful etc.
