This is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year and we are very grateful to all who came along and supported the event. Once again the evening was a huge success with rugby and racing legends such as Shane Byrne, Mick Galwey, Philip Doyle and David Casey all in attendance to share their insights and provide lots of tips on the upcoming sporting season. A very special thank you to MC Ivan Yates who was a fantastic host for the night.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Empowerment Award, kindly sponsored by Novartis, to Fighting Blindness member Áine Lennon from Carlow. Aine is an incredible recipient of the award, she has truly shown how much a person can achieve when they put hard work into reaching a goal. Twenty-three year old Áine took part in the Paris2Nice Cycle last September as part of a tandem cycling team. She and her family organised several fundraising events in their local community in preparation for Paris2Nice and raised an incredible €10,774.79 for Fighting Blindness. Áine has been a strong advocate for Fighting Blindness over the past year, visiting schools to raise awareness about vision impairment and talk about living with sight loss. We are extremely grateful to Aine and her family for their support and wish her continued success in reaching her goals.
Thank you once again to everyone who attended and supported the event, your continued generosity is greatly appreciated. Full details and photos from the event will follow in the coming days. For more information about any of the above please contact 01 6789 004 or email@example.com.
