We were delighted to be joined by over 250 glittering guests including sporting legends Willie Mullins, Mick Galwey, Fiona Coughlan, Philip Doyle, Jason Smyth and Nicky English. With broadcaster Ivan Yates as MC lending his own brand of cheeky humour to the event.
We also took this opportunity to present the Empowerment Award, kindly sponsored by Novartis, to Jason Smyth – the “Fastest Paralympian on the Planet”. Jason has been a wonderful ambassador to Fighting Blindness over the last couple of years, doing so much to assist with our mission to Cure, Support and Empower.
