Volunteers needed for AMD clinical trial in Waterford Institute of Technology

September 2, 2013

Researchers at the Vision Research Centre at Waterford Institute of Technology are currently recruiting volunteers to participate in two clinical trials. The first is specifically appealing for people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) while the second is open to anyone over 18 years of age. If you decide to get involved, you will be assisting with scientific research examining the impact of supplementation with the macular carotenoids and if it can improve contrast sensitivity and glare disability in people with AMD or can enhance visual performance in people who have no eye disease.

Fighting Blindness is not directly involved in this study, however, we are strong supporters and promoters of research into AMD. The full details of both clinical trials can be found below. For further information, please contact the Vision Research Centre on 051 845 505.
